Engineered specifically to address the unique demands of the Maltese broadcasting market, the new modulators are designed to ensure that Digi B’s network delivers robust, reliable DAB+ reception — including challenging indoor and in-vehicle environments where signal quality matters most.

A Network Built for Malta
Malta has been at the forefront of digital radio since becoming the first country in the world to roll out DAB+ nationwide. The 20 new multi-carrier modulators, developed in collaboration with Italtelec International, represent the next step in that journey. Each unit has been purpose-designed to meet the specific topographical and structural characteristics of Malta, where dense urban environments, limestone buildings, and varied terrain present unique challenges for signal propagation. Critically, the modulators have been built to operate reliably in the harshest of environments — ensuring consistent broadcast performance regardless of extreme temperature, humidity, or adverse operating conditions.
